How To Make GIFs For Your Newsletter
Hey everyone, Seth with Curated Success here.
GIFs can be a great way to show, not tell, with a quick, looping video that you can post practically anywhere. I’ve made a few GIFs specifically for newsletters in the past, so I created a guide that you can use to make GIFs of (and for) your own newsletter. Note: I address the best file size and quality for Curated newsletters.
This YouTube video covers 5 steps to make a GIF:
Each step includes tools you can use and some strategies to make an eye-catching GIF.
If you have any questions on creating your own GIF, let me know at support@curated.co and I’ll be glad to help out!

Reordering Newsletter Content Within Categories
If you’ve been subscribed for a while now, you might have read about my curation workflow and how I compare the quality of my best collected links and sort them to determine what stays and what gets cut.
I bring the articles, videos, podcasts, LinkedIn posts, etc. into my draft issue then start working my way through each category, reordering them from strongest to “least strong.” This week, Money Matters had some great contenders and, because I decided to do less commentary, I kept 4 links.
Seth created a GIF to show how easy that reordering process is.
Note: You can also quickly recategorize a collected item by dragging it into another category.
Tip: Make Your Archives Easy To Browse And Search (+ Treat Opt In Weekly Like An Idea Repository!)
Last week, a friend posed a question about a topic I try to follow: ungated marketing content vs publisher paywalls. While I had an initial response (they’re different beasts to tackle), I’ve curated 6 articles concerning gating in this newsletter. I used the publication site search function to revisit those articles (and my commentary) to share one article with him.
I asked Seth to create a GIF showing how that works in case you want try it in your own newsletter. Or maybe you want to test it out to see what I’ve published in the past about topics like deliverability, Gmail clipping, and getting listed in newsletter directories.
Curated users who have publication sites enabled (issues can be published to the Curated.co domain or a custom domain) can show archives and allow search by going to Settings > Hosting, Subscriptions, and Publishing > Web.
Great search example in the GIF, Seth!
